Salt Fog (Spray)
A Standard Salt Fog (Spray) test typically incorporates a single temperature condition and a constant fog (spray).
ASTM B117 is the most common test and incorporates a 5% salt solution to create a controlled corrosive environment to test the durability of coatings and parts.
Auto Technology Company’s Test Lab can perform the following conditions:
Salt Spray (fog) Ambient to 55 °C
ASTM B117 ASTM C1503 – 20%

Auto Technology Company’s Test Lab can provide contract testing services which include scribing, testing, and analysis.
We also manufactures chambers that can perform all of the current salt corrosion specification and perform Standard Salt Fog (Spray) testing at a wide range of temperatures.
CASS (Copper-Accelerated Acetic Acid-Salt Spray)
This is a variation of the Standard Salt Fog(Spray) and includes an increase in chamber temperature and the addition of copper chloride to the salt solution.
Auto Technology Company’s Test Lab can perform the following conditions:
Temperature: ambient to 65 °C
Humidity: 10% RH to 100% RH
