Suggested Optional Equipment Available
This assembly is for ventilation and draining of the fog
and condensate that exits the chamber.
Consists of jet exhaust unit, water pressure
regulator and necessary fittings. As the fog leaves the
chamber through the exhaust port, it is washed down
the drain using a constant spray of water (5 PSI).
The Wet bottom drain provides an inverted trap for
the cabinet to drain but not exhaust.
The height of the inverted trap determines the amount of
condensation that will build up on the chamber floor.
Requires hook-up to plant city water supply line. (C260301 for #23, 24, & 410)
This option is also used for the ventilation of the chamber.
It is designed to be used where a it is important to minimize water consumption.
Rather than flushing the exhaust fog and water down a drain continuously,
this fog and water is washed into a holding tank and reused to wash down more fog.
This option will conserve water and reduce operating costs.
This option is commonly used in combination with a Wet Bottom Drain Assembly.
The Wet bottom drain provides an inverted trap for the cabinet to drain but not exhaust.
The height of the inverted trap determines the amount of
condensation that will build up on the chamber floor.
This build up of condensation on the floor of the chamber will
increase the relative humidity in the chamber during the test.
Includes special heaters, CPVC internal box, and insulated cabinet and cover.
Allows for the chamber to run at temperatures up to
about 140 oF (160 is also available).
- Polypropylene cover (replaces the PVC cover)
- Insulation panels
- Rubber liner (replaces the PVC liner)
- CPVC dispersion tower (replaces the PVC tower)
All of the components on the chamber that would not stand
up to 65 oC temperatures are replaced.
The chamber is insulated to assist the chamber heaters
bring the chamber up to temperature.
The insulation panels also keep the user from being burned at
these elevated temperatures.
This option is helpful to those labs that require or desire increased test temperatures.
The standard chamber can test in temperatures up to 50 oC however the
longevity of the chamber will suffer.
Any testing above 40 oC on a continual
basis is a good reason to have this option.
Tests such as ASTM B360 (CASS testing) is a great candidate for this option.
This option will move the dispersion tower from the
center of the chamber to the back wall of the chamber.
The fog is dispersed from a T shaped horizontal dispersion
system from the back of the chamber towards the front of the chamber.
This option opens up the center of the chamber to provide maximum
space within the test chamber. The slotted openings in the horizontal
tube have adjustable baffles to assure uniform fog dispersion control.
This assembly replaces the vertical dispersion tower.

This is a Single pen recorder; 24-hour 10" circular chart.
Includes 100 charts. This recorder will chart the chamber temperature.
When purchased with the chamber, the recorder will be mounted onto
the front of the chamber, and wired into the electrical panel.
This is a Two pen, 7-day chart, 10" circular chart. Includes 100 charts.
This recorder will chart both chamber temperature on a dry bulb and wet bulb basis.
The differential in these temperatures will provide
you with the percent humidity in the chamber.
When purchased with the chamber, the recorder will be mounted onto
the front of the chamber, and wired into the electrical panel.
Slotted Support Bars
For holding test panels. Polypropylene bars 3" wide x 1-1/2" thick.

screw driver and plastic carrying case. Used to check the mixed solution
and collected condensate in the chamber.
1.00 - 2.00 range in 0.010 divisions. Length 330 mm (13").
This hydrometer is used to check the mixed solution as well as
the collected condensate to make sure it is within specification.
This meter will read the specific gravity.
0 - 26.4% range. Length 300 mm (12").
This hydrometer is used to check the mixed
solution as well as the collected condensate to make
sure it is within specification.
This meter will read the percent of salinity of the solution.
Consists of three Filter cartridges and one bracket assembly.
The bracket assembly is mounted by the customer in a convenient
location to the cabinet. The purpose of these cartridges is to
convert standard water from the tap into Deionized water suitable
for use in salt fog testing and humidity testing.
Note: Water quality may vary in the cartridge depending on the
characteristics of the water being treated. Extra Cartridges available.
Minimum order three cartridges.
Consists of one 50 pound bag of salt, 30 gallons of
deionized water, two (2) funnels and graduates, one (1)
specific gravity hydrometer and one (1) salimeter hydrometer.
Meets ASTM B117-90.
Consisting of: 55 gallon polypropylene tank with cover; all plastic pump,
filter and piping; drip proof motor (115 volt only) (for export, 220 volt
is available) ; filter element (5 micron); and air agitation dispersion
assembly with air regulator and gauge. Mounted on separate stand with casters.
This system is used to mix the salt solution, filter the solution and pump
it into the level control system.
The Power Exhaust Kit assists in removing fog, humidity and heated air
from the exposure chamber. It includes a venturi style pump in PVC piping,
a 100 CFM / 2.8 metres³-per-minute fan, and an adjustable air-bleed collar
to prevent a partial vacuum from being created in the cabinet.
Consisting of: 25 gallon polypropylene tank with cover; all plastic pump,
filter and piping; drip proof motor (115 volt only)
(for export, 220 volt is available); filter element (5 micron);
and air agitation dispersion assembly with air regulator and gauge.
Mounted on bottom shelf of common stand when purchased with Level Controls.
This system is used to mix the salt solution, filter the solution and pump it
into the level control system.
Consisting of 80 sq. cm. plastic condensate collector funnels mounted
on individual fully adjustable hangers, piped through chamber wall to 100 ml.
graduates mounted on a plastic shelf at one end of cabinet. Two or four funnels and graduates, depending on cabinet size. (#C700801 for #23, 24, & 410) This option saves time when checking the chamber collection rates and allows for checking without interrupting the test.
Consisting of, two plastic 90 degree elbows, one 12" plastic nipple,
one plastic spacer cap. For non-condensing humidity tests.
This 50 pound bag of salt meets most ASTM specifications. including B117.
This salt is 99.9% pure with no anticaking agents.
This is a plastic, 100 ml. graduated cylinder. It is used to collect
the condensation during the test as required by most tests.
This is a plastic, 80 sq. cm. funnel. It is used to collect
the condensation during the test at required by most tests.
Capable of controlling pressure in bubble tower to plus or minus 0.01 PSI.
Start-up service is defined as:
- Connecting the Level Control System to the Chamber.
- Filling the Humidifying Tower and the Humidifying Tower Reservoir with customer
provided distilled or deionized water.
- Filling the Salt Solution Reservoirs with customer-provided salt solution.
- The necessary heaters, controls and gauges will be adjusted according to ASTM
B-117-90 specifications.
- After completion of the above, a fog will be generated and start-up will cease.
Start-up does not include installation, i.e. wiring,
plumbing, air connections, etc. Auto Technology
agrees to provide this start-up within a reasonable
time after notification that the equipment has been installed.
This is a one day class designed to teach the participants how to operate and maintain the corrosion test chamber. There is class room training as well as hands on training on the equipment set up in our facility. An in-depth manual is provided including all class notes and diagrams. This class is conducted at the Auto Technology facility in Strongsville Ohio.
